Davíd Garza – Selections from the Thousand Roses LTD Catalog

Release: 2004
Format: CD
Notes: this is a second promo CD released for the Strange Mess of Flowers box set, though the title suggests it’s also for DG’s catalog in general.  Most of the songs are the same versions as the box set, but there are some fun differences in this collection.  Invisible, There Go the Weirdos, It’s a Wonder and Sadrigals were only available here.  Invisible was later released on ACL: Eastbound, Weirdos & It’s a Wonder (although in a very slightly different mix) were later released on Rare Bear Theatre.  Sadrigals is the true gem in this collection, as it’s the same basic version that later appeared on Chuy Chuy Y’all, but it’s longer by about 30 seconds and a very different mix.  Besides those four songs, both Pride & Joy/Rude Mood and El Pajarillo Jilguero did not appear on the box set, but were previously released on Covers/Colcha.  Enhanced CD contained a sample of the Strange Mess of Flowers DVD.
